After having arrived in Singapore, we took the Subway to the city and started exploring. I really love using the subway. Too bad there isn’t one in Bali. 😉
Soon enough, we got a bit hungry and stopped at a Hawker Centre to have a delicious lunch. I really love these places as there are many different dishes available and you can get stuffed for a nice price.
Next on our list was a Hindu temple which unfortunately was closed at our arrival. So we decided to skip it until our next visit and head to the Buddhist Temple next to it.
It wasn’t only a temple but actually a monastery. The praying room was absolutely nice with a very beautiful statue!
Sadly we couldn’t access the higher levels of the Pagoda. I would have really liked to see the view from up there… 🙁
There was an access to the underground and we couldn’t resist exploring it. I think we landed in their cemetery as there were many rows of small compartments with mostly pictures of old people on them.
There were many corridors full of these small red compartments. There must be buried many, many people down here…
While we were strolling through a park, the sun started setting and we decided to have dinner at an Indian restaurant.
Sadly, they didn’t have any Mango Lassi (my favourite drink from our last visit) but their drinks were nevertheless very delicious.
So was also most of the food we ordered. My dad tried Mutton Curry. It was absolutely amazing and I guess I’ll have this one next time. 😛
My dish didn’t meet my expectations – which is hard if you have no idea what exactly you are ordering – but it was still quite nice.
My mom wasn’t too hungry, so she had some flat bread with delicious sauces.
Interestingly, it seemed as if the city was more alive during the night than during daytime. Perhaps due to the heat here. It was a lot hotter than in Bali!
When we crossed a pedestrian bridge, we couldn’t resist taking pictures of the light rails the cars below us painted in the night…
Last but not least: We even had a major milestone on this trip! We found the GOLDEN SAUSAGE! (*** Note from mom: Sorry guys, that’s an insider joke which probably only very few people who know us very well will understand 😉 ***)
When we arrived back in our hotel room, I was pretty tired and so I fell asleep quickly…
