Since Mom and I had had our birthdays, Yesterday and the day before Yesterday, we decided to go on a small “After-Birthdays trip” to our neighbour island Nusa Penida. Mom doesn’t like the ferry ride to go there but I always enjoy it pretty much.
Look at how powerful the motors of the new boat are! We made a small film for you…
When we arrived at our friend’s home and entered our small house, our jaws dropped the moment we got on the balcony. Last year, we had had the house next to this one and the view from that one was already great but this one was even better!
Admiring the view we enjoyed our coffee and tea. 🙂
Of course I couldn’t resist exploring the upper floor with my room and I was pretty surprised to find another balcony there. 😀
Luckily our motorbikes were already ready and so we could start exploring right away. Nusa Penida luckily is still not much developed so there aren’t hordes of tourists yet and you can still enjoy nature in many spots.
Of course there are also many hindu temples to visit. Did you notice that the two parts of this one’s gates are not equal? Normally, they are always in perfect symmetry. 😉
After having a nice lunch along the street – like we always do in Nusa Penida – we relaxed a bit in a gazebo.
The owner of the Warung showed us the cliff next to his home. It was quite impressive! 😯
I didn’t like being up there and so close to the steep drop…
On our way back, we met a few kids who were playing with their kite. Everybody on the island is very curious when they meet foreigners and so we usually have a lot of interesting chats here. 🙂
We also came across one of our favourite spots on the island: The Teletubbies hills. 🙂
In the evening, after eating delicious food that we had brought from a street Warung, we enjoyed the sounds of the waves and the night animals on our terrace while the full moon illuminated the scenery…
