After the ancient temple, we continued to our second destination: A purification site hidden in the jungle valleys.
When we entered the location, a guide helped us preparing the offerings and we prayed to purify our souls.
Then, we began our purification journey through the small river.
In this place, the waters from Bangli and Gianyar meet and get united. This already makes the spot very special.
We first entered the Bangli-part of the river and stopped at different fountains to pray, bathe in the holy water and drink from it.
The atmosphere was so special. You could almost feel the presence of spirits.
The temple guide told us exactly what to do where and how to do it.
We also came across an amazingly big rock which was holy, too. The guard explained that the gods had thrown it there and it really seemed as if this rock hadn’t its origins there.
We continued walking through the river until we came to a waterfall which was the top purification site for the Bangli-water.
It was very nice to bathe in the holy waters. They had a very refreshing and purifying effect.
One after another, we prayed inside the waterfall’s basin and then bathed under the waterfall.
Then, we also continued to the Gianyar-side of the water where other waterfalls awaited us. To reach the top one here, we even had to squeeze throught a small natural stone tunnel. What an experience!
In total, there were more than 15 different holy springs inside this temple and – believe it or not – each of them had a different temperature, a different feel and a different taste…
