I think I have a new favorite drink: Es Kelapa Muda. Mom prepared this delicacy for us after she had brought it from a Warung a few days ago.
It’s absolutely easy to prepare:
For 3 big glasses, you need:
1 Young coconut
The preparation is absolutely easy when you're experienced in opening young coconuts. Just open the coconut and strain the water into a container. Scoop the flesh out of the nut, if possible so that it is in thin strips. Cut the lime into pieces that you can squeeze, possibly without getting too many seeds.
Take 3 big glasses, add a bit of sugar to them. Then distribute the coconut water to the glasses, add the ice cubes and stir. Add a sip of lime juice to each glass. Next, fill up with more water and add the coconut flesh stripes. Stir again and serve. Best enjoyed when it is very cold.
