We will miss her!
When we opened our gate this morning, my mom was a bit suspicious because Laika was not waiting outside, as she usually did in the morning. We also couldn’t spot her on our street. Confused, we got on our motorbikes and headed for breakfast.
But after a few meters, we came to an unexpected stop. We had found Laika. But not the way we had wished to find her: she was lying on the roadside, dead, poisoned. We could hardly believer our eyes and were heartbroken. How could somebody poison her! She was sterilized and vaccinated. Sadly, she had been still to shy to keep her in our garage, that’s why she slept outside and we also still hadn’t been able to touch her to put her a collar. All, because somebody once probably had treated her so bad that she was too much afraid of humans. But we were making big progresses. And now this!

So instead of going to have breakfast, we looked for a spot to bury Laika. As we found out in this moment, our neighbor’s dog had been killed last night, too. So we buried them together, below a durian tree, a bit off the road…
