Those are the spices we use for our marinade
Before picking up our breakfast, mom and dad had bought a chicken for our barbecue tonight. Of course, we prepared a marinade from fresh herbs and spices. First, we had to wash and cut them.

Quite a few sudatory minutes later…
And then came the hard part: Squish everything in our mortar until we had a pretty homogenous paste. While squishing, you could already smell the delicious perfume of the spices. After “activating” them in a pan with a bit of oil, we marinated our chicken.

Hey! Today is “Zero-Shadow-Day”!
After lunch, mom suddenly remembered that today was “Zero Shadow Day” here on our Bukit. That’s the moment when the sun is absolutely vertically above us and doesn’t really cast shadows. We wanted to take a picture of it but since I didn’t wear shoes and the street was boiling hot, it didn’t turn out too well. But, as you can see, my shadow is directly below me, which means that the sun is directly above me.

Inu has regained his self confidence and looks a lot better
Inu also came to rest at our house and we were happy to see that he had regained his self-confidence after the terrible haircut and was almost back to his old self.

The biggest member of our gecko-family pays us a visit
Later, in the evening, the “Master of Disaster” also came to pay us a short visit before going hunting in our roof again. Of course he couldn’t resist leaving us a “little souvenir” in our living room. 😉

Nick Cave sings on our terrace
After dinner, we enjoyed a concert by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on our terrace. Just like on any other “ordinary” Friday. 😉

The music and the atmosphere are great!
