Our neighbours had put the poles for Galungan
Today was Hari Raya Galungan and our Balinese friends were celebrating. All of them had already put up the decorated poles in front of their houses.
In the morning, our dear friend Ibu Yani called and told mom that she absolutely needed to see us. We were afraid that something bad could have happened and agreed to meet her, which is quite an exception because we’ve been practicing social distancing for more than a year and hadn’t met anybody.
Look at what Ibu Yani and her family brought us!
We could hardly believe our eyes when a car pulled up in front of our house and the whole Yani family (sadly except her husband who still hasn’t recovered from being sick since last year) climbed out of the car. Of course, we all wore masks and kept our distance at all times.
They greeted us and handed us several bags with food and delicacies. Look at the wonderful menu we had for lunch thanks to our friends.
Ibu Yani told us that she wanted to share her Galungan feast with us. This was so very kind of her! We really enjoyed this delicious feast! 😛
